House Of Illusions

House of Illusions presents a unique exploration of the breadth of emotion that exist within the human experience, often together, as Shahi incorporates both the light and dark, the whimsical and daring, and more, within “the same house,” In the paintings.

Through the drawing of thick partitions and of several different faces, the paintings offer glimpses into various parts of the same person; the individual remains the same, but they carry thoughts, feelings, mannerisms, and beliefs that are sometimes reflected externally, and other times not.

Societal pressure often pulls one’s identity in several directions; forcing them to carry different masks, and often leaving them with an internal turmoil that cannot be shaken off.
