Ice age depicts the loss of identity in the face of adversity. A feminine figure is torn apart as pieces of her are scattered throughout the canvas, depicting the loss of self-character associated with the impact of tribulations on one’s sense of self. In the corner of the canvas, a bear is visible, which symbolizes both strength and courage. Shahi uses the archetype of a wild bear to encourage the characteristic of building resilience despite the challenges we face.
