“Elements” is a study in expressionism, using aggressive brushstrokes to depict subtle facial expressions. It aims to evoke a range of feelings and states, including growth, harmony, fertility, loyalty, faith, purity, and tranquility. The many layers of oil paint give the work a sense of depth and complexity, as though the waves of feelings and states depicted are interwoven. The use of color is restrained, yet impactful, allowing the viewer to focus on the subtle nuances of the subject's expression.
